by:+Hesham Zebida

There are so many different business owners out there that do not understand the importance of blogging. Probst: National patient identifier would reduce cost, increase safety
Feb,18,2014
by+Don Fluckinger

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- By his own admission, Marc Probst, vice president and CIO at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, is not enough of a data scientist to explain exactly how much health information exchange would be simplified if Congress were to overturn its ban on a national patient identifier. He just knows in his gut it would make data exchange a lot more efficient.

More patients using online doctor reviews to choose a physician
Feb,19,2014
by:+Sabriya Rice

More consumers are turning to physician-rating websites to seek information on their doctors, in the same way as they would when evaluating a new car to buy or a movie to watch, according to a survey released today in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The study authors caution there are possible implications to treating reviews of physicians in this manner.
The survey found 65% of respondents were aware of online physician ratings, and of those who used the sites, 35% reported selecting a physician based on good reviews, while 37% avoided a physician based on bad reviews.

Medical Practices Must Remember That Patients are Customers Too
Feb,11,2014
by:+Jennifer Frank, MD

We just returned from vacation — a leisurely seven days in a tropical climate. Returning to snowy weather clocking in at 10 degrees below zero was … actually good. I was ready to be done with vacation, as wonderful and enjoyable as it was. Not only was I ready to give up the 400-square-foot room I shared for a week with my offspring, but I was also ready to get back to real life and apply some of the things I thought about during my time off. - See more at: http://www.physicianspractice.com/blog/medical-practices-must-remember-patients-are-customers-too?GUID=CBC6BBCA-23FB-45F9-98C0-2F81BAAB9362&rememberme=1&ts=18022014#sthash.3NqyAhKk.dpuf

The Web’s cacophony of anti-ACA sentiment
Feb,11,2014
by+PAIGE WINFIELD CUNNINGHAM

Anger is contagious on social media, and it has been easier to use Twitter and Facebook to stoke opposition to Obamacare than to implore people to sign up. Social media experts say supporters of the president’s health law just haven’t been as effective as the seething anti-Obamacare forces in getting out sharp, clear messages. The online war of words could play a role in enrollment for 2014: The deadline is March 31.

Clever Facebook campaign uses Photoshop + fake events to create Alzheimer’s experience
Jan,28,2014
by:+Amanda Harnocz

A Dutch Alzheimer’s group took that common Facebook mistake a step further. First the advocacy group, Alzheimer Nederland, teamed up with local Dutch organizations who hosted real events and used their Facebook pages and photos to carry out the campaign. The groups created fake events and posted pictures from these “events” on Facebook. The scary part? Facebook users were photoshopped into these pictures at events that they never attended. Organizers and people in on the ruse purposefully tagged Dutch celebrities in these photos to intentionally cause confusion. People could also submit their own friends’ photos and have them added in to these fake event pictures.
